Abstract
As a result of ice buildup, outdoor facilities and buildings like aircraft, ships, heat exchangers, solar panels, wind turbines, transmission towers, transmission lines, sports facilities, and others may collapse or seriously deteriorate, causing significant financial losses and even fatalities. In this paper, the hazards of icing on metal surface were briefly introduced, and the principles of anti-icing were summarized. Finally, the performance evaluation of super-hydrophobic anti-icing coatings was summarized.
