Abstract
Parabolic trough collector is a widely used solar collector. The flow field and heat transfer characteristics of the perforated vortex generator with periodically staggered arrangement in the rectangular absorber are simulated for Re=10000~50000. TiO2-Cu / water nanofluid is used as the heat transfer fluid. The effects of blocking ratio (h ⁄ =0.7) and perforation diameter 𝑑 on the heat transfer and flow resistance in the channel are analyzed. The results show that the perforated baffle with h ⁄ =0.7, d=2.5 has the best comprehensive performance of heat transfer in the channel for all selected Re.
