Abstract
Buck converter is widely used in solar power generation and electric vehicle batteries. In order to control the output voltage, this paper builds Buck converter simulation model using PID and fuzzy-PID controllers and examines improvements to the Buck converter performance. The PID and fuzzy-PID controllers regulate the duty cycle of Buck converter so that the output voltage follows the reference voltage. The simulation results present that the settling time of fuzzy-PID is faster than PID and the voltage deviation of fuzzy-PID is smaller than the PID. The performances of system with fuzzy-PID controller are better than system with PID.
