Abstract
In order to accurately measure the production and operation efficiency of ports and promote the high-quality development of ports in China. This paper uses the two-stage DEA model to measure the production and operation efficiency of China's coastal ports from 2015 to 2019, and analyzes the efficiency performance and differences of ports at various stages. Finally, Tobit stepwise regression model is used to screen out the important indicators affecting the operation efficiency and explain the influencing mechanism of the efficient development of ports. The results show that the port production and operation level has not been effectively improved over time. The profit conversion ability of most ports is relatively poor, improving management and operation level is the key to enhance port efficiency. Good industry development scale and service environment have significant positive impact on port production and operation efficiency.
