Abstract
Virtual coupling is an innovative train control mode, which enables trains to track at very small headway and significantly improve the transport capacity. However, such small headways are challenges to safety and control system. To ensure the safe operation of virtual coupling and reduce the risk of collision accidents, this research proposed a refined virtual coupling train safe distance model and an improved consensus control algorithm. Firstly, the virtual coupling emergency braking process is analyzed while considering the processing of information transferring and on-board equipment handling in the scene. A refined safe distance model with higher safety is proposed based on the analysis. Secondly, an improved multi-agent information consensus distance control algorithm for virtual coupling is proposed. The improvement makes the algorithm consider both the convergence speed and coupling stability effectively, is adaptive for various virtual coupling scenes. Thirdly, real train data and rail line data are imported, and train dynamic model is established to verify the convergence ability and adaptability of the proposed algorithm by simulation.
