Abstract
Understanding the characteristics and influencing factors of public transportation ridership is essential for the reasonable allocation of urban public transport resources. In this paper, we analyze the spatial and temporal characteristics of conventional bus stop ridership in Beijing. Utilizing POI data, land use data, and conventional bus IC card data, we analyze the influencing factors of ridership through a multiple linear regression model. Our study reveals that there is a correlation between conventional bus stop ridership and different functional land uses or POIs during morning and evening peak hours. The correlation patterns of POI or land use data with conventional bus stop ridership align with morning and evening peak commuting patterns. The POI of metro stations exhibits a significant correlation with both pick-up and drop-off conventional bus stop ridership during morning and evening peak hours. Furthermore, the model demonstrates that POI data provides a better fit for conventional bus stop ridership interpretation compared to land use data.
