Abstract
When two sources of depth information are combined, the result might be dominance of one source, cooperative interaction between the sources, or an additive combination of the sources. For transparent stereo-motion displays we found a cooperative interaction: structure-from-motion facilitates disparity processing, probably by helping to resolve the stereo correspondence problem. For opaque stimuli the combination of structure-from-motion and stereopsis appears to be additive.
