Abstract
The algorithms of G.723.1 coder are analyzed and studied in this paper. Searching the large-sized codebook in this coder is still found to be time-consuming. Therefore, in order to speed up the code vector searching and optimize the algorithms, a new fast vector quantization method based on clustering analysis is put forward. The scheme of realizing the specific clustering analysis algorithm is described. Experiments and actual execution on G.723.1 coder show that its executive efficiency has been obviously improved by the optimization while its speech quality has little degradation.
