Abstract
The techniques for optical control of monocrystalline films are reviewed and demonstrated with the polyester film as an example. The following characteristics of a polyester film are measured: the film's index of refraction, surface roughness, the degree of the films' optical thickness inhomogeneity, the phase variance of radiation passing through the film, and total scattering cross-section.
