Abstract
The triplet state characteristics of Cy5 molecule structurally related to the trans-cis isomerization are studied by means of ensemble and single molecule measurements. Several new deactivations of the singlet state are identified. The delayed fluorescence and phosphorescence from Cy5 molecule were observed. Spectral evidences show that the dim state could originate from the cis-Cy5 with lower excitation rate. The power dependence analysis for the same individual Cy5 molecule indicates an efficient reverse intersystem crossing happened while the T1-Tn absorption is in resonance with the excitation wavelength.
