Abstract
The fan-chirp transform is an ideal method for analyzing and processing harmonically related chirp signals. The spectral aliasing of the fan-chirp transform resulting from the time warping in the fast algorithm proposed by L. Weruaga and M. Képesi has not yet been theoretically resolved. This paper has found the sufficient conditions that lead to aliasing-free spectrum, i.e., the sampling rate satisfies the Nyquist rate and the equivalent sampling rate should be at least twice of the Nyquist rate. And such sufficient conditions have been verified their validity by demonstrations. The spline and sinc interpolation have different aliasing phenomena. Based on comparisons of their interpolation errors and reconstructed errors, the spline interpolation is recommended to be used in the fan-chirp transform.
