Abstract
We have calculated the raw and central moments of a noise model where the noise is the sum of elementary signals which are time and space dependent. We show that the scintillation index is a constant plus a correction term that goes as 1/N where N is the number of elementary signals. We study the correction term for a specific elementary signal.
