Characterization of organic photodiodes (OPDs) requires experimental measurement of the OPD dark noise, devoid of shot-noise assumption. Importantly, the associated noise measurement bandwidth is highly relevant for determining the linear dynamic range (LDR), noise equivalent power (NEP), and specific detectivity (D*). In this work, different OPDs are experimentally studied for their dark characteristics. Different measurement bandwidths associated with the time-dependent dark current are investigated. The apposite bandwidth is counter-checked for its relationship between the noise power density spectrum and the experimentally measured noise. The resultant standardized approach is then used to provide correct reporting of NEP, LDR, and D*.
