Imaging System Basics
Abstract
Broadband, multispectral, and hyperspectral imaging cameras provide UAV images from the visible to the infrared and beyond. Many utilize more than one field of view, each optimized for a different stage of the mission. Some view in both daylight and dimly-lit conditions by using additional hardware and the luminance properties of the night sky to aid image capture. This chapter examines these and other subjects to more fully describe UAV imaging, and introduces figures of merit that allow different systems to be compared.
