1 February 1998 Image contrast of subpixel objects
Author Affiliations +
Radiometric relations are developed for a pixel-based optical system. Expressions for the contrast of both full- and subpixel objects are developed. Detector characteristics are incorporated. Object and background orientations are addressed. Both exact and approximate implementations of the modulation transfer function are provided.
