Profile Summary

Dario Ambrosini received his degree in electronic engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), where from 1993 to 1995 he was a collaborator with the Optics Laboratory headed by Prof. Franco Gori. Since 1995 he was an assistant professor with the Energetics Department (presently DIIIE, Department of Industrial and Information Engineering and Economics) of the University of L'Aquila, where he currently is a full professor. His research interests include flow visualization and heat and mass transfer, optical metrology and non-destructive testing, thermography, and digital image analysis. In these fields, he has published more than 250 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and national and international congresses. A member of UIT (Italian Union of Thermal-Fluid Dynamics), OPTICA, and Sigma Xi, D. Ambrosini is an associate editor of the journal Optics and Lasers in Engineering since December 2019. A Senior member of OSA since 2013, he was elevated to the rank of OPTICA Fellow member in 2023.
He was the recipient (with G. Schirripa Spagnolo) of the 2001 SPIE Kingslake Medal and Prize and one of the recipients of the 2016 OSA Outstanding Reviewer recognition.
