Eric Heinz retired from optical engineering in late 2014 after 37 years of designing optical instruments, principally spectrometers and filter fluorometers.. After January 2003 he consulted as Heinz Optical Engineering, LLC. As a consultant he helped many biotech companies develop DNA analyzers, fluorescence imagers, and related instrumentation. He also helped several companies develop illumination systems.
