Mirela Suchea studied Physics in Physics Faculty at the University of Bucharest, Romania– Biophysics specialization in the 4th and 5th years of study Licensed in Physics–Biophysics in 1999. In 2009 she obtained her PhD title from University of Crete Chemistry Department with the thesis “Study of In2O3 and ZnO thin films for selective gas sensors applications: Growth effect on the films structure and surface topology as essential factor in metal oxide thin films sensing applications” http://phdtheses.ekt.gr/eadd/handle/10442/18139. Since 2010 she is working as External Lecturer in Electrical Engineering Department School of Applied Technology Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece and as a member of the research team of Center of Materials Technology and Photonics. Mrs. Mirela Suchea started her the research career less than ten years ago when she started working as a researcher at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas, Heraklion, Crete, Greece. Since, she dedicated her interest to research in the field of nanostructured materials synthesis and applications. She focused her work various materials and applications such as UV activated metal oxide gas sensors, thin films and nanostructured materials develpment as photo-active smart coatings, metal oxide surface modification using metal nanoparticle, phosphor films for radiation detection and protection and in the last years, transparent conductive electrodes for flexible electronics and organic photovoltaics being author and coauthor of over 35 journal articles cited over 750 times and covering a broaden interdisciplinary range between materials science, physics, chemistry, electrochemistry, instruments and instrumentations, technology.
