Dr. Nghia Nguyen-Huu is an accomplished expert in nanophotonic structures, thin films, metamaterials, and sustainable energy solutions such as solar absorbers, thermophotovoltaic devices, biosensors, and filtering technologies. His work on wavelength-selective emitters was featured on the cover page of Nanotechnology. Recognized with the 2023 Engineering Award from Engineers Nova Scotia, he serves as an Associate Editor for Applied Nanoscience by Springer Nature and previously served as an Associate Editor for the SPIE Journal of Nanophotonics. A senior member of SPIE, IEEE, and Optica, Dr. Nguyen-Huu is a conference chair, member of the SPIE Scholarship Committee, and sits on the Board of Examiners for Engineers Nova Scotia. His work has contributed to aerospace and military innovations in laser protection, energy-efficient lighting, and advanced optical filtering. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science (Photonics) and has held academic roles at Dalhousie University and Can Tho University, alongside extensive industry experience at Metamaterial Technologies, LED Roadway Lighting and WEIR Canada.
