Dr. Javid Khan has over 30 years of experience in electronics, photonics and 3D display technologies which include image/signal processing, 3D graphics and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently the AI/ML, Neuromorphic Computing and data visualisation Lead at Leonardo, in applied research and defence avionics.
Dr. Khan is a founder of Holoxica Limited, a company specialising in 3D holographic and light field display solutions aimed at scientific data visualisation, medical imaging and engineering design. Before Holoxica, Javid was a Scientific Officer at the European Commission, responsible for an annual research budget in excess of €10M, gaining significant experience managing international technology R&D projects, encompassing chip design, embedded computing and telecommunications. He has won numerous awards for his pioneering work on holographic displays and is a recognised expert in 3D visualisation.
Javid holds MEng and MSc degrees in Microelectronics and Telecoms Engineering, doctorate in Photonics Engineering plus an MBA in Entrepreneurship. He is a honorary Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) .
