Dispersive correlators have been proposed previously for solving problems of recognition of radiating objects in real time. Correlation signals are formed by radiation of analyzed object during its interaction with spatial filter. Most difficult recognition case is when spectrum of input radiation is continuous (non-line spectrum). Method of synthesis of Fourier holograms for their using in dispersive correlators as spatial filters is developed in this work. Spectral ranges, in which values of components of radiation are greater than predetermined threshold for reference spectrum, were determined. Entrance slit used as reference object. Next, spatial image of spectrum, which is a set of images of object (slit), was formed. Amount of object images and its sizes are determined with selected wavelength ranges. Fourier hologram of this image was computer synthesized and had 2048x2048 pixels. Then this hologram was binarized and printed using laser imagesetter with 100 dots/mm resolution. In this work the scheme of the dispersive correlator with single Fourier-objective was used. Correlation signals for different spectra were experimentally formed. LEDs, including RGB-LED with ability of dynamically changing of composition of radiation spectrum, were used as radiation sources. Post-processing operations, which provide independence of recognition results from radiation source power and holograms diffraction efficiency, were defined. Three methods of normalization of correlation signal for identification signal obtaining were experimentally tested and compared. These methods are normalization to radiation power in zero, first, and both of these diffraction orders. Experimental results on identification of test sources with non-line radiation spectra are obtained. They show successful recognition of used LED sources of different colors. Average ratio of spectra coincidence signal to mismatch signal was 4.6 at relative spectral resolution of used setup equaled to 0.004.

At present time methods of optical encryption are actively developed. The majority of existing methods of optical encryption use not only light intensity distribution, easily registered with photosensors, but also its phase distribution which require application of complex holographic schemes in conjunction with spatially coherent monochromatic illumination. This leads to complex optical schemes and low decryption quality. To eliminate these disadvantages it is possible to implement optical encryption using spatially incoherent monochromatic illumination which requires registration of light intensity distribution only. Encryption is accomplished by means of optical convolution of image of scene to be encrypted and encryption diffractive optical element (DOE) point spread function (PSF) which serves as encryption key. Encryption process is described as follows. Scene is illuminated with spatially-incoherent monochromatic light. In the absence of encryption DOE lens forms image of scene in photosensor plane. DOE serves as encryption element, its PSF - encryption key. Light passing through DOE forms convolution of object image and DOE PSF. Registered by photosensor convolution is encrypted image. Decryption was conducted numerically on computer by means of inverse filtration with regularization. Kinoforms were used as encryption DOE because they have single diffraction order. Two liquid crystal (LC) spatial light modulators (SLM) were used to implement dynamic digital information input and dynamic encryption key change. As input scene amplitude LC SLM HoloEye LC2002 with 800×600 pixels 32×32 μm² and 256 gray levels was used. To image synthesized encryption kinoforms phase LC SLM HoloEye PLUTO VIS with 1920×1080 pixels 8×8 μm² and 256 phase levels was used. Set of test images was successfully optically encrypted and then numerically decrypted. Encrypted images contents are hidden. Decrypted images despite quite high noise levels are positively recognizable. Results of optical encryption and numerical decryption are presented.

Digital holography is popular tool for research and practical applications in various fields of science and technology. Most widespread method of optical reconstruction implements digital hologram display on spatial light modulators (SLM). Optical reconstruction of digital holograms is used for remote display of static and dynamic 2D and 3D scenes, in optical information processing, metrology, interferometry, microscopy, etc. Holograms recorded with digital cameras are amplitude type. Therefore quality of its optical reconstruction with phase SLM is worse compared to amplitude SLM. However application of phase SLM can provide higher diffraction efficiency. To improve quality of optical reconstruction with phase SLM, method of SLM phase modulation depth reduction at digital hologram display is proposed. To our knowledge, this method was applied only in analog holography. Also two other methods of quality improvement are considered: hologram to kinoform conversion and holograms multiplexing. Numerical experiments on modelling of digital Fourier holograms recording and their optical reconstruction by phase SLM were performed. Method of SLM phase modulation depth reduction at digital holograms display was proposed and tested. SLM phase modulation depth ranged from 0 to 2π. Quantity of hologram phase levels equal to 256 corresponds to 2π phase modulation depth. To keep SLM settings while changing phase modulation depth hologram phase distribution was renormalized instead. Dependencies of reconstruction quality on hologram phase modulation depth were obtained. Best quality is achieved at 0.27π÷0.31π phase modulation depth. To reduce speckle noise, hologram multiplexing can be applied. Modeling of multiplex holograms optical reconstruction was conducted. Speckle noise reduction was achieved. For improvement of digital hologram optical reconstruction quality and diffraction efficiency hologram to kinoform conversion can be used. Firstly numerically reconstructed image of object was obtained. Then this image was used for kinoform synthesis. Diffraction efficiency was increased by 6.4 times in comparison with hologram reconstruction.

This leads to complex optical schemes and low decryption quality. To eliminate these disadvantages it is possible to implement optical encryption using spatially incoherent illumination which requires registration of light intensity distribution only. However this applies new restrictions on encryption keys: Fourier spectrum amplitude distribution of encryption key should overlap Fourier spectrum amplitude distribution of image to be encrypted otherwise loss of information is unavoidable. Therefore it seems that best key should have white spectrum. On the other hand due to fact that only light intensity distribution is registered, spectra of image to be encrypted and encryption key always have peaks at zero frequency and their heights depend on corresponding total energy. Since encrypted image contains noise, ratio of its average spectrum energy to noise average energy determines signal to noise ratio of decrypted image. Therefore ratio of amplitude at zero frequency to average spectrum amplitude (RZA) of encryption key defines decrypted images quality. For generation of encryption keys with low RZA method of direct search with random trajectory (DSRT) was used. To estimate impact of key RZA on decrypted images error numerical experiments were conducted. For experiments keys with different RZA values but with same energy value were generated and used. Numerically simulated optical encryption and decryption of set of test images was conducted. Results of experiment demonstrate that application of keys with low RZA generated by DSRT method leads to up to 20% lower error in comparison to keys generated by means of uniform random distribution.
